Progress!

I just got back from the doctor and he said I'm about 1 1/2 cm dilated! My cervix has turned also. Yay! The doctor said this was no sign of when the baby will come, but it's good that we're making progress! I wondered what those little crampy pains were this weekend. :)

Almost There...

I finally got around to taking my 9 months picture - technically this is 38 weeks but who's counting at this point, right? Our little boy will be here soon!

Can't wait to meet you little man.

Waiting ...

On Saturday, I will be 38 weeks. Now our baby is completely "cooked" and could be born safely at any time. What a relief! His heart is beating strong and he's still moving around - although not as much now that he's running out of room. However, nothing much is happening and it doesn't seem as though Baby Reed is ready to make his appearance yet. My doctor told me yesterday that I'm not dilated (sp?) at all and no other changes have happened since my visit last week. That's just fine by me as I fully intend on having him on or after my due date (June 6th)!

I am SO pregnant. I need to post a new pic. My belly is H.U.G.E. I am SUPER EMOTIONAL too. I cry at the drop of a hat. I think this is because of my hormones, stress at work, DJ's work schedule right now because of helping his dad farm, etc. But mostly, I'm just ready and very very very excited to see our little boy.

p.s. Ten years ago this Saturday DJ and I went on our very first date. We went to see Star Wars (lame).

Heidi's Bachelorette Party

Last night we celebrated Heidi's last night as a free woman! Congratulations, Heidi! I can't wait for you to marry Justin and officially become part of our family. Your wedding will be so much fun! Now we will both be Mrs. Reed. :) Love you!

True Story ...

So the other night DJ and I went over to the barn to clean out the pit. We do this sort of in exchange for my aunt letting me keep Dan at her place. So while DJ was cleaning, I decided to go visit Dan.

As I walked out into the pasture where Dan was, he looked up and started walking straight toward me. (He was about 50 yards away.) When he came up to me ... and I'm not making this up, I swear ... Dan took his nose and rubbed it back and forth very gently on my belly. I was shocked! He has never rubbed his nose on my stomach before. I SWEAR he knew that there was a little baby in there and it was like he was saying "Hi, I'm your friend Dan".

Now I know that he might have walked up to me because he thought I was going to feed him, but the nose on the belly was incredible! My eyes welled up with tears. What a good boy. I can't wait to teach our little one how to ride and I hope he will share my love for horses.

35 Weeks

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
