These Boots are Made for Walkin'

I got these boots for DJ for his birthday. Shhhh...don't tell him. He doesn't read my blog so it's okay to post it here. :)
I have been wanting to get him some Ostrich boots FOREVER and finally I found some for the right price. Aren't they cool?

Rat-a-tat-tat

Whoa David ... you scared me. Nathan e-mailed me this afternoon and said did David call you about his tattoo? I thought for sure you'd have a "I LOVE KRISTI" tat on your bicep or something.
She is quite the artist! I couldn't tell if this was real or fake. I thought you went and spent all of your graduation money on it. :)
Great to be with the fam this weekend in Ft. Lauderdale.

Nine Years

Today is the nine-year anniversary of my first date with DJ. It seems like yesterday that he picked me up and took me to see Star Wars (I know...Star Wars!). I can remember what we wore, what we talked about and how nervous I was!
It's been great spending these nine years together. I wouldn't change a minute of it.

Latest News:
I am looking forward to visiting my family in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend. The last of the Mangold 6 is graduating this Sunday - our little David. I can hardly believe it. It seems like yesterday that he was playing with legos in our basement.

Last week I was in Oakland and Pasadena, CA for work. I spoke at patient relations seminar. It was so much fun, so good for me, and such a fun time. I was happy to have been able to go.

Our friends Ginny and Chad got engaged last weekend. We went to their engagement party at the BK Club in Mishawaka...so much fun. Congrats Ginny & Chad!

Heidi & Justin...you're next.

Celebrate!

Cheers! A win in NC (but a loss in IN).
I tried to vote yesterday, but was not able to as I still have an Illinois driver's license. My fault...I should have gotten it months ago.

Obama Myths: He swears on the Bible & puts his hand on his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance

Swearing on the Bible
Two press reports from Obama's swearing-in ceremony in January 2005 mention specifically that Obama took the oath of office by placing his hand on his own copy of the Bible. The Barack Obama campaign also confirmed that it was a Bible and that the book belonged to Obama. Vice President Dick Cheney, in his role as president of the Senate, administered the oath.
After being raised outside of any particular faith tradition, Obama became a Christian in his mid 20s and is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

ABC News' David Wright and Sunlen Miller Report: At a town hall meeting Wednesday an Iowa voter asked Senator Barack Obama, D-Ill., about the numerous emails she has received with photos purporting to show Obama "refusing" to pledge allegiance to the flag."You're standing with your arms folded and Hillary's got her hand on her heart," she said, adding that she received so many of these emails she is sick of them.Obama shook his head and smiled."This was not during the pledge of allegiance," Obama said of the picture taken at Senator Tom Harkin's, D-Iowa, annual steak fry and first published by Time. "A woman was singing the Star Spangled Banner when that picture was taken. See the original photo by clicking here."I was taught by my grandfather that you put your hand over your heart during the pledge, but during the Star Spangled Banner, you sing!" Obama said.ABC News has video of the event in question which can be viewed by clicking here.Obama called the circulation of such pictures a "dirty trick" and mentioned other emails accusing him of being "a Muslim plant.""I have been pledging allegiance since I was a kid," Obama said.Obama advised his supporters who receive such emails to ignore them."Just tell whoever sent it," Obama told the crowd, "they're misinformed."Source: ABCNews.com
